The only time I was actually scared was when Dad parked his pickup on the old bridge under which that torrent raged. But Dad was busy taking pictures of the bridge crew rescuing their equipment. One of the funniest things about that flood was that it came very close to the ranch house but way off south and completely surrounded by water was the brooder house where we used to keep the new chicks. The house remained intact and even raised a couple more batches of chicks.George Stringamhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11375285536941813368noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3723327840869334395.post-33051170364640895592013-04-04T11:54:02.852-06:002013-04-04T11:54:02.852-06:00A timely look back, at this season of possible flo...A timely look back, at this season of possible flooding. Your parents must have been so very worried.

I can only imagine how terrifying it would be for you at nine years old. I fear water, especially water that has escaped its natural boundaries. True story: I used to get a stomach ache at bath time. It felt unnatural to be submerged (in three inches of water!). I live in a maritime province. Go figure.jenny_ohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15475480579733466963noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3723327840869334395.post-25355215803464134382013-04-04T11:46:51.177-06:002013-04-04T11:46:51.177-06:00Only ever witnessed one flood in my life, and it w...Only ever witnessed one flood in my life, and it wasn't even on our land!

Spring that can do some damage...Caitlinhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16126017949452417615noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3723327840869334395.post-47171915646411470472013-04-04T11:16:07.827-06:002013-04-04T11:16:07.827-06:00I can't imagine the horror one would feel watc...I can't imagine the horror one would feel watching water rise, threatening everything you worked for..horrible.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
