Clean!

This poem’s short. I’m terrified,
I think I’d rather run. And hide,
The time has come, I hope you know,
Unwanted things will have to go,
I have to open up that door,
Ignore the pain and do the chore
That once or twice a year is done,
And cannot qualify as fun.
But…
I find when more time has elapsed,
Can really help me in my task,
Make cleaning out the ‘fridge okay
When I do it another way…
I ope’ the door and order hence
All foods that have gained sentience.

With poetry, we all besought
To try to make the week begin
With gentle thoughts,
Perhaps a grin?

  2. My fridge awaits me too, taunting me every time I open the door. Only you could make me laugh about it!

  3. Smiling.
Although I am convinced that sentient foods will not readily obey commands...

  4. I just did this yesterday after a weekend of family and big dinners! We are trying to keep prices down so yesterday was a day of left overs.

  5. My honey is working on the door of the freezer today... so many "transformed" things we never labeled and can no longer identify!

  6. Hehe, but yuck. Sentinent leftovers sounds a bit terrifying. I love your poem!

  7. Would you believe, my husband and I discussed cleaning out the fridge today. No, it didn't happen. You make it sound so poetic.

  8. Heeheehee! Yep, you gotta tell the ones that have evolved enough to graze on the dead veggies who the boss is around there.
