And survived.
Actually, I've discovered that when one goes adventuring on a cruise ship, one should be prepared for difficulties.
Such as deciding which of 700 entrées one would like to eat at any given time of the day or night.
I think they should just weigh everyone when they come onto the boat, then again when they are leaving, and charge by the pound.
I had to take two different sizes of clothes. Pre and post cruise.
But what a glorious, glorious time!
Sun.
More sun.(Incidentally, if you've been wondering where Spring is hiding, I found it. It's in Alaska!)
Friends.
Shopping.
Food.
Fabulosity. (Is that a word?)
It was a week I will never forget!
Friends. |
More friends. And Husby and I. |
Amazing food. eg. Watermelon pie. Made of different flavours of sherbet. With chocolate 'seeds'. |
Unbelievable weather! |
Approaching Glacier Bay. |
Got him where I want him. |
What happens on the cruise ship, STAYS on . . . |
Here's to the next thirty-eight!!!
So glad you celebrated 38 years with the trip of a lifetime; gorgeous scenery, delicious food and wonderful company. Congratulations!
ReplyDeleteThank you Karen! It truly was the trip of a lifetime!
DeleteHow lovely!! I love cruising. (I'm a Cruise Planner in another life if that tells you anything) Alaska must have been so gorgeous. It's definitely on my places to go list. Glad you had a good time!!
ReplyDeleteHmmm. You're a cruise director, eh? I will file that away under 'things that will be important'! :)
DeleteGlad you had a fun trip. A cruise is a fun way to travel although we sure learned a lot when we took ours. Namely bring your Imodium with you. If you ask for it, you'll get quaranteed to your stateroom.
ReplyDeleteYikes! So true! I read the info that they gave us and any hint that your innards may not be all they can be is met with a couple of days in the brig.
DeleteYou do know I'm so incredibly jealous right? ;) Glad you had a good time!
ReplyDeleteThank you, JJ! I'm sorry to make you jealous. Soon, we'll be reading about your adventures, right? =)
DeleteGLad you had fun... It's been over 15 years since we went on a cruise... they used to let you order more than one entree, especially if you weren't happy or didn't like what you ordered.. maybe Edillon can clarify that for us... ps.. fine dining not quite like eating at home family style....
ReplyDeleteThey will still let you. I know. Husby did!
DeleteYou're right, fine dining just doesn't compare with being at home, with everyone saying they hate what you made . . .
I love Alaska!
ReplyDeleteMe, too! I'm a new recruit/fan/addict!
DeleteSo glad you're back - you were missed! What a wonderful way to celebrate your anniversary - kudos to Husby :) Sounds like such a good time! My mom went on an Alaskan Cruise and said it was by far her favourite (she used to travel someplace different every year). The scenery has got to take your breath away!
ReplyDeleteThank you for missing me! I really missed hearing from you! The scenery is definitely in the jaw-dropping category. Amazing! And sooo beautiful!
DeleteThis is wonderful Diane.. what an amazing trip... a great adventure with lots of really great memories for you both ;-)
ReplyDeleteIt really was! Thank you, Launna!
DeleteOh you two are adorable. :-)
ReplyDeletePearl
Heehee! Thank you! :)
DeleteSo glad you had a memorable time and so glad you are back....so THAT'S where Spring was hiding.
ReplyDeleteWho knew . . .?
DeleteI'm so happy for you! Sounds like a wonderful trip! I'm hoping to do this in the next couple of years! Glad you're back definitely missed you!
ReplyDeleteDo it! :)
DeleteThank you so much, Rena! I missed you, too!
I went on a cruise years ago and I know exactly how the weight thing goes. What a wonderful anniversary. I would love to do the Alaskan cruise someday.
ReplyDeleteBlessings and hugs for a fun one!
Welcome home! I'm glad you had such a fabulous time.
ReplyDeleteGlacier Bay looks very cold to me.
