Let Them Be Little

It should probably come as no surprise that I love children.
And that I had (what I consider) a stellar childhood.
I was raised with peace.
Security.
Kindness.
Tenderness.
Good food.
And a lot of adventure.
Today, I'm thinking of those children throughout the world who have none of these things.
And my heart breaks for them.
In my opinion, children should never have to fear.
Suffer.
Die.
I donate my money.
I offer them my prayers.
I keep them in my heart.
Today, I'm thinking of them.
Be little.

  1. I am so with you. Such heartbreaking pictures of children in war torn countries hurt and stunned, it truly breaks my heart. We MUST make this world a better place for the children.

  2. Love this blog -- I remember the joy of running wild and free on the farm. It would be my wish for every child.

    1. Thanks so much, Mary! Running wild and free. My childhood exactly. I grew up in the 50's. Before crime existed. I wish MY childhood for every 'little' out there!

  5. Every child deserves a decent, happy childhood.
Alas this is not happening for far too many ...

    Good words Diane, thank you

    All the best Jan

  6. My grandchildren are so fortunate to be surrounded by love, living a peaceful life in Australia. It breaks my heart to see children in other countries who have no hope even at a tender young age. A beautiful post. Thank you. Sue from Sizzling Towards 60 & Beyond.

    1. Sooo grateful to hear it, Sue. Every happy child builds us. Every sad child diminishes us. Thank you for your happy children!

  7. Some of those images we see of children in the refugee camps just breaks your heart....you can see the fear and uncertainty in eyes that should show only happiness and security.

    1. That is what really gets me, D. They should only ever be happy! Much eye leakage here today.

  8. Yes, childhood should be sacred. I completely agree.

  9. It's the one thing all children deserve, but it needs to be done without spoiling them rotten so they think only of themselves and become selfish.
