I love music, yessiree,
I’ve always something playing,
The songs that make me sing along,
Or softer ones for praying.
Whatever mood I’m seeking, well,
There’s music made to order,
From instrumentals soft and sweet,
To bagpipe and recorder.
Feeling chip and cheerful, well,
There’s music for that too,
And songs lamenting broken hearts,
And some just for the blues.
There’s some I like to play real loud,
Like CCR (the best),
While others lull me off to dreamland,
Help me take a rest.
But just today, I realized
That music (you’ll agree!)
Designed with all my moods in mind…?
Must be written just for me!
P.S. I’m happy to share. You’re welcome!

With poetry, we all besought
To try to make the week begin
With gentle thoughts,
Perhaps a grin?
So Karen, Charlotte, Mimi, me
Have crafted poems for you to see.
And now you’ve read what we have wrought…
Did we help?
Or did we not?
Topics for the next few weeks (with a huge thank-you to Mimi, who comes up with so many of them!)...

I often wonder about how interesting it is that our taste in music can change so drastically due to our moods. There's always something for whatever we're feeling.
ReplyDeleteMusic is so magical. I couldn't agree more and lately I seem to need quiet, calming notes and melody. So soothing.
ReplyDeleteJohn loves classical. I love some of what he loves. My brother is into pop. Worked in the industry. When I want to get up and moving, Beatles, BG's etc.
ReplyDeleteMusic is a closed book to me. I know I am in the minority here...
ReplyDeleteMusic is a blessing. The fact that there are so many different styles is wonderful, if everyone's taste was just alike, how boring the world would be.
ReplyDeleteEC, it's fine that music isn't what sparks joy for you. Everyone was created different, and as i noted, that's a good thing.
There's always music for whatever mood I'm in. I am so thankful that music exists.
ReplyDeleteYes there's always music to fit the mood. Is it somewhere in Those Happy Golden Years Almanzi chides Laura for always having a song fit for every thing happening? Well, I always thougth she was rigth ;)
